Can you tell us about yourself and your artistic practice?
I am a visual artist and painter with a diploma from the National College of Arts, specializing in figurative oil painting. My practice centers on South Asian women, exploring female identity, strength, and cultural narratives through a contemporary feminist lens.

What inspires your artwork?
I am inspired by the resilience, lived experiences, and nuanced agency of South Asian women across generations. I draw from regional heritage and female portraiture to challenge traditional representations and center women's untold stories.

What ideas or emotions do you hope to express through your work?
I hope to express autonomy, quiet resistance, and deep emotional complexity while reclaiming the female gaze. My goal is to evoke empowerment and cultural pride, encouraging viewers to rethink historical and modern gender dynamics.

Can you describe your creative process, from the first idea to the finished piece?
I start by exploring themes of womanhood through visual research and sketches to shape the central narrative. From there, I build layered oil compositions, using color, posture, and lighting to emphasize the subject's inner power.

What are you currently working on, and what are your plans for the future?
I am currently working on a series of figurative oil paintings highlighting contemporary South Asian women taking ownership of their spaces. Moving forward, I plan to expand this feminist discourse through international artist residencies and global exhibitions.
